'American Horror Story' Brought Out a Fantastically Weird Fiona Apple Cover

'AHS' star Sarah Paulson covered Apple's 1997 single "Criminal" as conjoined sisters

Evil clowns, conjoined twins, "Life on Mars." It was hard to pinpoint which aspect to talk about first on American Horror Story: Freak Show's premiere last week, but the show's outdone itself with its latest musical performance! Watch above as Sarah Paulson, who plays conjoined twin sisters Bette and Dot Tattler, performs a cover of Fiona Apple's 1997 hit "Criminal."

Backed by a band of carnies and little people, the two-headed Paulson serves a twangy rendition of the GRAMMY-winning single. One head does most of the singing while the other, rather brilliantly, adds harmonies on the chorus essentially making the character the ultimate vocalist.

American Horror Story has made its love of good music and musicians clear. Adam LevineStevie Nicks and Patti LaBelle have all scored recurring roles on various seasons while actress Jessica Lange performed a bizarre David Bowie cover last week.

Bring on the music, AHS! Maybe Pink can play a trapeze artist? Or Christina Aguilera can reprise her "Hurt" elephant-tamer character
