Mila J Brings L.A. Culture to 'M.I.L.A.' EP

Jamila Aiko Chilombo–better known as simply Mila J–is making some noise with her newest release, Made In L.A. (or M.I.L.A.) via Motown Records. The singer stopped by Trending 10, and you can watch the full interview above!

Mila went into great detail about why she reps L.A. so hard, going as far as to incorporate her hometown pride into the name of her newest album. "A lot of times, people have a stereotype of what an L.A. girl is, but I'm relatable and down-to-Earth," she explains. "I wanted to show the other side of L.A.–not the Hollywood, glitz-and-glamour."

She also delves into the most common comparison she sees, which is to her own sister, Jhené Aiko. While the sisters were tight when they grew up, listening to similar music, their personalities make for vastly different sounds in their own songwriting.

"She's a little more laid-back, I'm a little more feisty and out there," Mila says.
