HEALTH's "New Coke" Music Video Might Make You Vomit

The Cali noise technicians turn hurling into high art

We're not sure if the men in HEALTH have an emetophilia thing (look it up at your own risk) going on or not, but the video they just premiered for "New Coke" will probably make you want to puke up your last meal. Directed by the HEALTH bassist, John Famiglietti, the clip for "New Coke" focuses on a night of decadence in the group's hometown of Los Angeles.

But what sets apart "New Coke" from other music videos comes during its final few minutes. In a scene that lasts well over two minutes, the camera focuses on band members Jupiter Hoover Keyes and Jake Duzsik vomiting into a filthy bathroom sink at The Smell, a downtown L.A. music venue. It's all captured in slow-motion shots that will burn into your brain within seconds. Keyes and Duzsik achieved the colorful puke effect by downing gallons of milk with dye in it. Good luck with dinner tonight!

"New Coke" will be included on Death Magic, HEALTH's forthcoming album which will arrive in stores on August 7 via Loma Vista. Their first full-length since 2009's Get Color album, the 12-track collection finds the Cali noise act collaborating with the Haxan Cloak, Kanye West engineer Andrew Dawson and Mars Volta engineer Lars Stalfors.
