Pallbearer Unleash First-Ever Video with "Watcher in the Dark"
It might have taken them seven years, but Pallbearer have finally released their first music video. Directed, shot, and edited by Adam Heathcott (Hometapes) and produced by Heathcott and Sara Padgett Heathcott, "Watcher in the Dark" features arresting visuals that include everything from psychedelic color patterns to scenic nature shots. The clip also cuts in scenes of Pallbearer bringing down the gauntlet in front of a black screen.
"Watcher in the Dark" comes off Foundations of Burden, Pallbearer's sophomore album. Released in August of 2014, the album was called “a watermark for the genre” by Pitchfork and it was also included on many year-end best of lists. The Arkansas combo combines the funereal guitar riffs of classic doom metal with soulful, clear-as-a-bell vocals. It's a refreshing change from the death metal–styled and/or screamed vocals usually found in the genre.
