Unlocking the Truth Became a Band After Attending a Disturbed Concert
It's been two years since we first introduced you to Unlocking the Truth, the endlessly talented (and totally metal) teen trio. In that time they scored a $1.7 million major label contract and, like true rock stars, tried to find a way out not too long after. They also performed live with Marilyn Manson, a dream come true for the middle school musicians.
In a new Tonight Show interview, the boys were asked about the first concert they ever went to...and it lead to the surprising tale of how they started their band.
Drummer Jarad Dawkins explains:
"The first concert I attended was with [guitarist] Malcolm [Brickhouse] in 2009 at the IZOD Center in New Jersey. That day we went to go see Disturbed. To me, that was one of the best concerts I've ever been to in my whole life experience."
"That's where I learned I wanted to be in a band when I got older," Malcolm adds. "That's when I realized this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life."
There you have it! The boys are down with the sickness. Watch the full interview above.
