Bon Iver's First Concert in Three Years Gave Us Two New Songs
Justin Vernon's first Eaux Claires Music Festival went down in Wisconsin over the weekend. (You didn't forget the camping music, did you?) The fest's refreshingly diverse lineup was topped by a headlining set from Bon Iver, which hadn't assembled for a concert in almost three years.
And now we have two new Bon Iver songs! The first, above, is a blippy, bloopy, strings-aided affair. Think we're also hearing some harmonica in there. Check it out; it's great.
If you're not in the mood for rambling intros, the second new song starts at 1:25 in the video below. It's a slow-jam with a bit of Auto-Tune and the English trio the Staves on backup vocals. This one's reallllly good. Which makes it even more of a bummer that Vernon recently told Grantland we shouldn't expect a follow-up to Bon Iver's 2011 sophomore album any time soon.
