See Red Hot Chili Peppers' Chad Smith Join Foo Fighters in New York

The all-star team-up closed the band's Citi Field set

"Some of you people, you know that the Foo Fighters, we don't do encores," broken-legged Emmy nominee Dave Grohl said at New York City's Citi Field on Wednesday night. "We never do encores. But! We got Chad from the fuckin' Chili Peppers in the house."

So the exception was made, and the band knocked out a 10-minute version of the Faces' 1971 tune "Stay With Me." Watch Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith bang along with the Foos up top.

Stereogum reports that the Foo Fighters also rocked covers of Tom Petty's "Breakdown," the Police's "Next to Me," and Queen and David Bowie's "Under Pressure."

Last week the Foo Fighters' self-titled debut turned 20. You can get all nostalgic with us right here.
