Metal Frontman Loses Drunk Bet, Walks 323 Miles To Next Gig

Joakin Brodén of the band Sabaton is currently making his way from southern Sweden to northern Norway while documenting the thing on YouTube

When most people make drunken bets, they don't follow through. Apparently that is not the name of the game in Scandinavia. Joakin Brodén, frontman of Swedish metal band Sabaton, is currently walking 323 miles from his hometown of Falun (in the southern part of the country) to Trondheim in northern Norway, where the band will perform at the Trondheim Metal Fest. That's a lot of walking.

The reason (or the details of the bet!) have yet to be determined.

Brodén shared the following statement:

“I will not go into details on exactly what happened, but I can say that it was fun and a bit silly. It started out almost as a joke, but it evolved to be quite serious. Now I will take a few days rest. I have made contact with some fans via Facebook, who have provided me with food and shelter.”

So, yeah, not a lot to go off of. We do know the frontman will continue to document his journey via YouTube; check out the first clip above. When you're done there, flip through our list of records every metalhead should own.
