Gerard Way Reflects on David Bowie’s ‘Labyrinth’: Flashback Friday
Although David Bowie’s music has been some of the most influential of the past half-century, the late icon was also a pretty great actor—most notably in Labyrinth, Jim Henson’s 1986 fantasy in which Bowie plays Jareth the Goblin King. In a 2006 chat with Fuse, Gerard Way expressed his unconditional love for Bowie and Labyrinth.
“Labyrinth the movie is actually kind of a security blanket for me,” he says. “I bring it everywhere I go on tour, and whenever I get to watch it I watch it. It makes me feel like a kid, and it makes me not miss home so much.”
