Anthrax's Scott Ian on Donald Trump: 'The Last Thing He Wants Is to Be President'

In trending news on Tuesday, March 29, a former insider who worked with Donald Trump says the reality TV star never had any intention of being president. In a letter written for xoJane, Stephanie Cegielski, the former communications director of Trump's now-defunct super PAC, writes that she was brought on with instructions to ensure Trump landed a respectable second place in the GOP primary. Cegielski says her onetime boss' run was a "protest candidacy." "You can give Trump the biggest gift possible if you are a Trump supporter: stop supporting him," she writes.

The news echoes very similar words Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian told us during a visit to Fuse. He discussed his connection with Trump and why he thinks the candidate never intended to go this far:

"The last he wants is to be president. He's going to run this game as long as he can and then he's going to get an even way-bigger TV deal than he had before...but I don't think he really wants to be president. Trump's a very smart businessman, or so he says."
