Why Domo Genesis Had to 'Go Savage' on 'Genesis' LP: Video Interview

The Odd Future member also details how the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi and his own family influenced his debut solo album

From the topics his debut solo project tackles to its stacked list of guest stars, Domo Genesis isn't playing when he says he wanted to "go savage" with Genesis. The LP dropped on March 25, and the Odd Future/MellowHigh member says he's hoping the material connects with listeners in a deeper way:

"I had an album before this one and it was straight, hard-nose rap. I was like, 'It's tight, but it's not really about anything.' It's just me rapping, trying to be like, 'I'm the best rapper or whatever.' I was like, 'You know what? I'm going to get more personal.'"
