Former KISS Member Ace Frehley Reflects on a Concert That Changed His Life

Ace Frehley started playing the guitar at the young age of 13 and was heavily influenced by The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, but it wasn't until this life-changing moment that made him want to be a rockstar.

15-year-old Ace cut school to see Mitch Ryder & The Detroit Wheels on the Murray The K show in Manhattan. "I was totally impressed and at that point I said to myself, I want to be in a theatrical rock group. When I joined KISS, you know, we decided we wanted to take something that whole like concept even further."
