The Strumbellas Decide Which Member Would Win a 'Street Fighter' Competition at ACL Fest
The Strumbellas brought their progressive rock-folk sound to Austin City Limits Fest 2016 in support of their Hope album that dropped in April. The latest release off the new LP is "We Don't Know," that had its visual premiered earlier this month where the Canadian six-piece beat the crap out of one another, old-school video-game style. But the question on our minds was who would really win in a real-life Strumbellas fight club?
Violinist Izzy Ritchie and keyboardist/vocalist David Ritter initially think that guitarist Jon Hembrey or bassist Darryl James would almost inevitably come out on top, but Ritter has a secret weapon: "I'm not very strong or fast, but I can take a lot of damage and that's an underrated trait for a fighter." Meanwhile, Izzy points out that she's "scrappy" and "doesn't play by the rules." Sounds like it's anyone's game.
