Martin Garrix Talks Dua Lipa Collab 'Scared to Be Lonely,' New Music & Coachella 2017

The Dutch DJ and producer tells us why Dua Lipa was his first choice for their song together, how his 'Seven' EP came together and why he's excited to perform at Coachella again

When you look at DJ and producer Martin Garrix's impressive resume of awards and collaborations, it's hard to believe the breakout star is just 20 years old. Speaking to Fuse about his new single "Scared to Be Lonely" with Dua Lipa, Garrix says she was one of the artists on his wish-list, saying "I love her voice and her energy is super cool!"

Above, Garrix talks about why he loves collaborating and how his 2016 Seven EP came to fruition. "I just wanted to do something...for the fans," Garrix says. Plus, the DJ tells us about launching his own label STMPD RCRDS last year and how it gives him freedom to go into the studio and do whatever he wants.

Garrix also tells Fuse what's next for him, including "so much [new] music coming out" and playing Coachella again in 2017 after three years. In fact, Fuse first chatted with Garrix back at Coachella 2014.

Below, watch our interview with Martin Garrix at last year's Lollapalooza where the told us about recording with Bebe Rexha for their collab "In the Name of Love":
