Max Kaiser, the man in charge of making and maintaining hundreds of tons of snow and ice, tells us how the fest keeps things icy

The idea of 600 tons of snow and 40 trailers of ice being brought to Los Angeles sounds wild, but Shaun White's Air + Style festival has made it happen for years so snowboarders can compete and perform their best tricks off the fest's famous 16-story snow-covered jump.

Fuse spoke with Max Kaiser, the man in charge of making and maintaining the snow, about how the fest pulls off the feat and the different hurdles they've experienced during a particuarly rainy and windy weekend in L.A. right now.

Watch the revealing interview above and afterwards watch the festival's creator Shaun White explain the significance of the massive jump in the interview below.

Be sure to stay tuned to all of Fuse's on-the-ground coverage from Air + Style 2017.
