Nicky Jam Says Working With Enrique Iglesias Was The Best Move He Ever Did
It's been ten years since Nicky Jam dropped The Black Carpet, so it was only right he delivered an album and introduced a new sound to the reggaeton movement that would be everlasting for his fans.
The four-time Latin GRAMMY winner wanted to give a little bit of everything on his new 26-track album Fénix—which released on January 20. Not only does the album have reggaeton, but this time around Nicky incorporated Colombia's vallenato music as well as trap, pop, reggae and more.
"The intro of the album called 'El Ganador' that means the winner. At first you hear the song and you think I'm bragging about everything I have," he says. "And then from the second part of the song on you realize it tells you all my dark moments in the past, in my career, everything I had to go through to get to that point."
