So if you're like us, you watched Kanye West and Jay-Z's "Otis" video last summer and immediately thought, "Maybe one day, if I save up enough loot, I'll be able to buy that beat-up and re-configured Maybach Aziz Ansari is having so much fun driving." Thanks to the mega-superstar rappers, here's your chance.
As Allhiphop reports, Yeezy and Jigga are auctioning off the 2004 Maybach 57 for the international charity Save the Children, estimating the value of the car between $100,000 and $150,000. (How much the fire blowing from the exhaust increases its value remains unclear.)
The car is currently on display at 450 Park Avenue in New York through March 7, with the auction taking place the following evening. Auction host Simon de Pury, who presumably never thought he would be quoted on Allhiphop.com growing up, said, "Jay-Z and Kanye West are towering figures in contemporary culture. They have greatly contributed to the artificial barriers between art, music, fashion and cinema to come down. Their video for ‘Otis’ became an instant classic. The Maybach they have transformed for it has the starring role.”
The auction will be part of the house's New York Contemporary Art Evening, joining other notable contemporary art works as the stack of money from Waka Flocka Flame's "O Let's Do It" and the dew from GS Boyz' "Booty Dew."
