Lil Wayne Signs Limp Bizkit to His Label
Lil Wayne, who runs the most successful rap label in the game (Young Money/Cash Money, which released platinum albums from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Lil Wayne himself last year), learned that his label just inked a deal with Florida metal-rappers Limp Bizkit, whose last successful album, Results May Vary, came out in 2003. Nobody knows why.
Wayne called into New York radio station 98.7 Kiss FM to give details of the signing last night, saying that the label was "signing everybody," including possibly Ashanti, and that he learns of new signings "every day." Three months ago, Lil Wayne signed deals with Busta Rhymes and Mystikal and added them to the Young Money roster, despite how old they both are (39 and 41 respectively). The lesson here is that if you are a musician who had a very successful career in the 1990s, seriously, give Lil Wayne a call. He will try to resurrect you.
If you were wondering what Limp Bizkit's been up to, it's Fred Durst's juice diet Tumblr, which started and ended in January. Durst tried to drink only juice for 60 days and chronicle the experience, but the whole thing was sad because most of the posts were about his failing willpower and he only lasted six days. Get back on that juice, dude -- you're in show business again!
