HARD ROCK: Slash Drops New Single
Slash, a god of rock and an icon in the top hat world, has released "You're A Lie," off of his forthcoming second album, Apocalyptic Love. It's streaming here. Slash said, "'You're A Lie' is the second song I brought to the band in 2011 during the last tour. We worked on it at soundcheck somewhere, I can't remember where. It's gone through some minor changes along the way, mainly the chorus, but for the most part, it's remained true to its original arrangement. I can't wait to play this live." We can't wait either! COUNTRY: Star Starts Playing Adele
Famed country songwriter turned famed country singer Luke Bryan has been adding a twist to his live show lately. Fans at his Friday (Feb. 24) Nashville show probably weren't expecting: he launched into a cover of British singer Adele's smash "Someone Like You." [Country Weekly]
HIP HOP: Weezy's About to Release a New... Sneaker?
Lil' Wayne, the best-selling rapper in the game right now, is trying to make moves in the fashion game as well: he just started a skate clothing line called Trukfit and it looks like he's putting out a shoe as well. The New Orleans spitter told Vibe, "I have a shoe with a well-known company... It's not a Nike or a Reebok." Then the interviewer says, "We've seen you in Supras," and Weezy replies, "Uh oh. Watch out," and then he laughs, leading us to believe the sneakers might indeed be Supras. It wouldn't be Lil Wayne's first signature shoe!
HIP HOP: Waka Flocka Drops Video With Drake
Atlanta rapper Waka Flocka Flame, originally from Queens, NY, hits the club, as expected, in the video for his new single "Round of Applause." The song is off his next album, Triple F Life, the follow-up to the massively successful Flockveli, and Lex Luger produces the track, which is good news if you were into Flockaveli (he produced a bunch of tracks on that too). Check out the video, including cash in the air and ladies in only body paint, below.
HIP HOP: Former Beefers Greet at All-Star Game
Big sporting events have a way of bringing people together, and this year's NBA All-Star game was no different: Common, who officially squashed his beef with Drake on the red carpet at this year's GRAMMY Awards with Fuse's Toure, greeted Drake at the game. As you can see here, Common gave Drake a wide smile and engaged him with presumably some small talk, and it looks like Drake is smiling too. Do you smell a collaboration? [Rap Radar]
