What the Heck is Chiptune?
Dan Brown headed to Williamsburg, Brooklyn, hipster ground zero, to learn about chiptune music, and he found out that it's simply "music made with computer chips," according to Juan Larrazabal from the band KOOL SKULL. James Therrien of Bright Primate and Mike Goodman of InvaderBacca elaborate on that, saying, "It's the use of classic video games like a Nintendo or a Game Boy and using the sound chips inside of them to actually make music. Like a synthesizer basically!"
Honestly, this is some really weird, insanely nerdy stuff, but it's unbelievably interesting to watch. Learn about great chiptune artists above.
