Two weeks ago, I told you about Kanye West and Jay-Z's plan to auction off the Maybach from their "Otis" video for charity. The 2004 Maybach 57 was expected to fetch between $100,000 and $150,000 at auction, with proceeds going to Save the Children.
Well, good news for Jay-Z and Kanye haters and bad news for those who like to see good charities get money: According to Rap-Up, the car sold last night for an underwhelming $60,000 in less than five minutes.
The car was part of the New York Contemporary Art Evening auction and, given its non-operational state, was treated more like a work of art than anything you could pick your friends up in and drive.
