Neon Indian On "Psychedelic" Flaming Lips Collabo
Representing the indie rock world on this weekend's eclectic bill at Ultra Fest in Miami is Neon Indian, the project of Texas-bred, Brooklyn-based mastermind Alan Palomo, the guy responsible for the lo-fi atmospheric electro-pop genre "chill-wave."
Fuse caught up with Palomo backstage at Ultra Fest, where he chatted with us about growing up in rural Texas, working with Adult Swim on his new music video for "Fallout," from his latest LP Era Extrana, and collaborating with The Flaming Lips: "Wayne [Coyne] was particularly good at tapping into this brain stem state of mind -- like there's the instrument, that's the sound, there's the song. It was great. I can't even really put it into words. I would be so lucky to work with them again."
