Mary J. Blige is getting a reality show called Opening Act on E! According to Deadline, it's a talent competition also starring American Idol executive producer Nigel Lythgoe and producer Antonina Armato of famed production team Rock Mafia.

The concept of the show is that Mary J., Nigel and Antonia seek out talented amateur musicians on the internet to have them open a show for established stars, including Nicki Minaj, Rod Stewart, LMFAO, Brad Paisley, Jason Aldean, Jason Mraz and Gym Class Heroes.

The amateur musician will learn of their selection in person from Olivia Lee (The Tonight Show With Jay Leno) and they'll immediately be brought to Hollywood for a "performance boot camp" and "intense mentoring sessions" with industry executives.

Doesn't this sound like the formula for ruining prospective talent? Bringing them to Hollywood to have them chill with music industry executives?

Anyway, after their "intense mentoring sessions" and the boot camp, they'll be the opening act for one of the superstars' shows! That sounds pretty sweet.

The show premieres on July 9 on E! Are you excited for Opening Act? Let us know in the comments!
