When Fuse spoke with Cosentino last month, she was still pinching herself over the fashion line. "I don’t know why Urban Outfitters picked me. I’m honored that they did," she said, but noted, "Until I see the clothing on people or in a store I still won’t believe it’s actually happening."
Well, she can start believing it—her assortment of dresses, skirts, rompers and capes (yes, capes) went on sale Monday morning. The reasonably-priced pieces ($49-69) all have some sort of throw to other fashion-forward females, from the "Cher dress" to "the Stevie [Nicks] cape" to "the Jenny [presumably Lewis] romper." Take a gander at the Stevie cape below.
The best item, however, has to be the sheer open-back blouse labeled "the Rayanne shirt," clearly inspired by Rayanne Graf, the wild-child best friend on My So-Called Life. As far as we're concerned, that's fashion genius. In a similarly retro vein, there's an item called "the Tai skirt," probably in homage to Brittany Murphy's character in Clueless.
Bethany Cosentino—you rocked this one. This will remain the coolest musician-designed line of clothing on the market until Jessica Simpson releases her maternity line this fall.
