Despite What Scott Weiland Says, He's Not Back With Velvet Revolver

Despite rock wailer Scott Weiland's very detailed conversation with ABC News Radio about Velvet Revolver getting back together—he talked about new tracks and a tour—it sounds like that's totally not happening. In an interview with a Minneapolis radio station on Monday, Slash shot down Weiland's claim.

"We have no intention of going backwards," Slash said of Velvet Revolver, adding, "He's out of his mind." The hard rock supergroup kicked Weiland out in 2008, citing his "increasingly erratic onstage behavior and personal problems."

Weiland is probably going to be surprised to hear that—he sounded pretty sure he was back in VR. “They gave me a couple of songs and myself and Dave [Kushner, guitarist] and Duff [McKagan, bassist] are gonna be getting together for a song writing session next week." (Hmmmm... or maybe they're replacing Slash...?).

Weiland even teased a tour for the band he's not actually back together with: "Slash’s solo album gets released and so he’s gonna do some touring on that and then we’re gonna go and do some [Velvet Revolver] shows in the later part of summer into early fall."

So it turns out the only Velvet Revolver reunion in 2012 appears to be taking place is Scott Weiland's fertile imagination. Or so it seems...

What do you guys think?
