Alabama Shakes Have Some Logistical Issues with Opening Up for Neil Young
Alabama Shakes, the Alabama roots rockers who've gone from tiny to massive in the last few months, have faced some logistical challenges in their success. Like when they were asked to open for legendary singer/songwriter Neil Young, they didn't know if they could do it because drummer Steve Johnson's son started kindergarten the next day!
We spoke to the band at Bonnaroo and they also told us about playing their smallest show ever, long before they were rocking the stage at the 'Roo. "We played in an antique store. We were scared we were gonna break something... There was a good bit of people in the store but there was only a few watching us play."
So watch the video above for more on that, as well as some things they learned from Jack White, and don't forget to check out all of our Bonnaroo 2012 coverage, including this amazing gallery of the best photos of day two, for more interviews, photos and news!
