Rihanna, Katy Perry Songwriter's New Single Is Really Effing Good
Ester Dean, the go-to hitmaker and songwriter who's worked with some of the biggest names in the biz—Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige, Christina Aguilera, Kelly Clarkson—is stepping out on her own, prepping for the release of her debut album due out later this year. After hearing the first maybe-single/slow jam "Baby Making Love," it's nice to see Ester picking up the tempo on "Bam Bam" ... and turning the bass up to 11.
The track's an all out eardrum assault, reminding us of a cross between a Kanye West and Missy Elliott club beat (which would explain its premiere on Jay-Z's Life+Times blog). Homegirl is not to be messed with as she provides us with some of the best Twitter bio fodder we've heard in a minute: "Your girl's so cute, but oh, she's so lame / The p**** ain't s*** without the gold chain." The more you know.
