Weezer Plan "Blue Album," "Pinkerton" Shows
Earlier this week, Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan cried foul on '90s bands who revisit their glory days and landmark albums by "doing the greatest hits tour," he said. "Why? Ka-ching. Cashing in."
One band uninterested in Corgan's unsolicited advice is Weezer. The Los Angeles power-pop outfit just announced that they'll be returning to the road for track-by-track performances of 1994's Weezer (aka The Blue Album) and 1996's Pinkerton, first performed on a 2010 tour and, later, a Weezer-themed cruise.
The 11 shows, kicking off July 13 at Buffalo, NY's "Buffalo Rocks the Harbor Fest," will be scattered throughout the summer and fall. The tour will cap November 10 and 11 with the Memories Show, in which the band will perform one album each night at Hard Rock Live.
Check below for the full schedule and the band's tour trailer, soundtracked by, of course, "Memories."
