Madonna On Lady Gaga's "Born This Way": "Glad I Could Help Her Write It"
We already knew Madonna didn't care about making a few people mad—after recently ignoring a warning from Scottish police about banishing prop guns from her Edinburgh concert, the Queen of Pop is back to taking jabs at Lady Gaga...again. You might remember when Madge was asked about the similarities between her hit "Express Yourself" and Gaga's "Born This Way": Madonna lifted her cup of tea, called it "reductive" and told journalist Cynthia McFadden to "look it up" when asked if she could explain what she meant. As far as we know, Gaga did not retaliate (except for her Little Monsters claiming Madonna's "Girls Gone Wild" video was an "Alejandro" rip-off).
Now, the MDMA star is taking her insult a step further—during an recent interview on Brazilian TV show "Fantastico," when asked if she could comment further on her thought's about Gaga's hit, Madonna simply said with a smirk, "I'm a very big fan of ['Born This Way']. And I'm glad I could help her write it." Ice cold!
Enough is enough, ladies! We can all agree that "Born This Way" kind of sounds like "Express Yourself," and that should be the end of the story. They're not the same song, no one's artistry was compromised and both tracks were instant classics. (I said it!) Hey, Gaga: How 'bout we sweep all this under the rug, and you perform "Born This Way" with Madonna live on stage? PLEASE?
