Diplo: Snoop's "Daughter, Wife & Special Guests" on Reggae Album
When Fuse's Yasmine Richard caught up with genre-bashing producer Diplo—he's worked with everyone from M.I.A. to Justin Bieber to No Doubt—the Major Lazer maestro told Fuse that Snoop's reggae track "No Guns Allowed" features not just his daughter, but his wife as well.
"'No Guns Allowed' is a really special record," Diplo says. "It has his daughter and wife on it and special guests, too." I didn't think it was possible, but the idea of an anti-gun track from the gangsta Doggfather just got more intriguing.
The Reincarnated producer also tells us why people shouldn't be so scandalized by Snoop Dogg the rapper turning into Snoop Lion the reggae singer.
"Snoop was always making controversial moves, from No Limit back in the day to doing a record like 'Sexual Seduction' to 'Young, Wild & Free.' He's always the guy who does what he wants. He's bigger than the genre of rap or urban pop."
To hear everything Diplo has to say about working with Snoop, check out the video above. And for Diplo's take on working with someone completely different (the Bieb), head over here.
