CAPE CANAVERAL, FL - AUGUST 13: In this handout image provided by NASA, the robotic arm of the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL)

What good is a drive through the Mars countryside if you don’t have any tunes? Thankfully, NASA scientists were way ahead of the curve on this (as usual), and the Curiosity Mars Rover plays a new song every morning as it “wakes up.” Here’s the playlist, which NASA scientists revealed during a live chat on reddit (a “Sol” is a Martian day; it’s 40 minutes longer than ours):

Sol 2: "Good Morning Good Morning" - The Beatles

Sol 3: "Good morning, good morning" from Singing in the Rain.

Sol 5: Wagner "The ride of the valkyries" and Victory Song: Theme from "Mission Impossible"

Sol 6: "Got the Time" - Anthrax, and "Echelon" - 30 Seconds to Mars

Sol 7: The Doors - "Break on Through", and George Harrison - "Got My Mind Set on You"

Sol 8: Theme from Star Wars - John Williams

Sol 9: "Wake Up Little Susie" - Simon and Garfunkel

Sol 10: "Come Fly with Me" - Frank Sinatra

That list is not bad, but the Fuse office thought NASA could use a suggestion or two. Here's a Spotify list of what we'd play if we were in charge of Curiosity:

If there's anything we missed, let us know in the comments!
