TJ Jackson Awarded Co-Guardianship of Michael Jackson's Kids
Earlier this afternoon, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff awarded TJ Jackson – Michael’s nephew and the son of Tito - permanent co-guardianship of Michael Jackson’s children, Prince, Paris and Blanket. The Los Angeles Times reports the move has the full support of Katherine, the children, and Diana Ross, who was named the children's legal guardian in Michael's will.
TJ was appointed temporary custody of the children on July 25th, after Katherine went missing. Katherine was renamed co-guardian in early August.
TJ will have day-to-day responsibilities and will assume full guardianship if Katherine becomes unable to care for the children. He's helped care for the children since Michael's death in 2009.
The custody battle over Michael Jackson’s children (and their $30 million trust fund) has been strange and labored, to say the least. There have been allegations of kidnapping, concerned tweets, angry letters to lawyers, alleged death threats and more. But today, hopefully, it all came to an end.
