Owl City on Michael Jackson's "Thriller," Working With Mark Hoppus & Taylor Swift's "Red" Album

Owl City (AKA Adam Young) stopped by Fuse recently to discuss—what else—pop music. We wanted to know where the songwriter of one of the summer's catchiest hooks (his duet with Carly Rae Jepsen, "Good Time") gets his inspiration. The answer: Michael Jackson. But of course. When asked what his favorite all-time pop song is, Young replied, "It all goes back to Thriller, where it all started. Pick something off that record. That's probably the ultimate for me."

Adam also discusses working with Blink-182's Mark Hoppus, his secret love for screamo and which upcoming albums he's most excited about. Like the rest of us, he's pumped for Taylor Swift's Red: "The new Taylor record...I can't wait for that to come out." Check out more from Owl City in our interview above.
