Ellie Goulding, "It" girl of the moment (actually of the year), is having one heck of an adventure. Her debut album, 2010’s Lights has taken her all over the world including performing for U.K. royalty, as well as our own King and Queen of sorts, President Barack and First Lady Michelle Obama.
Goulding, who recently released "Anything Could Happen," her first single off sophomore album Halcyon, discloses a couple of interesting tidbits to the New York Times about her meeting with the prestigious couple last year.
"He said he liked my coat," Goulding says of her White House performance during a tree-lighting ceremony. "I was wearing quite a special coat. I looked a bit like a polar bear."
We knew Obama was cool, but liking a polar bear-esque coat is too awesome!
"I turned around and I was just singing a song next to the president’s daughters, and I thought, this is quite mental. This is quite surreal."
The platinum blonde songstress also dishes that her boyfriend/ best friend Skrillex has quite the romantic streak such as flying a long way to see her. "He was supposed to be flying back from Ireland straight to L.A. And he took a diversion and flew to Spain. It was pretty extreme."
Skrillex could be the real-life Lloyd Dobler.
