American Idol and Chris Brown drama be damned—Nicki Minaj and Rihanna are ruling this year in the eyes of the American Music Awards.
Minaj and RiRi aced the 2012 AMA nominees with four nods each, although they don't lead by much: Drake, Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Usher and One Direction scored three noms apiece.
Christina Aguilera revealed the lucky 2012 AMA nominees at a press conference earlier today, along with the exciting news that the Voice coach and Lotus eater herself will be performing at the awards show.
EDM fans should pay special attention to this year's ceremony, because Skrillex, David Guetta and Calvin Harris are competing for the first-ever Electronic Dance Music award at the AMAs.
So tune in to ABC's live broadcast of the awards show from L.A.'s Nokia Theatre on Nov. 18 to see which of these unsung cultural heroes walks away with the most trophies.
