Blake Shelton Wins Big, Taylor Swift Shut Out at CMAs
Life can't be all record setting sales weeks and sweet pizza deals for Taylor Swift. The newly single superstar was shut out of last night's Country Music Awards, despite being nominated for three awards.
Sure, Swift is more of a pop star/burgeoning dubstep artist than country musician these days, but it's still shocking that she went home empty handed, especially after seemingly gracing every TV show and popular magazine these past few weeks.
So who was the big winner last night? The Voice coach Blake Shelton took home three awards, including the big one for Entertainer of the Year. Eric Church won Album of the Year for Chief, and Miranda Lambert won two awards, including the statue for Female Vocalist of the Year. Toby Keith's "Red Solo Cup" got Video of the Year, and Kenny Chesney nabbed Musical Event of the Year for his duet with Tim McGraw, "Feel Like a Rockstar."
Those artists are all Straight Country, so perhaps they deserved it more than Taylor. That said, it's a shame we weren't treated to the "Who, me?!" face at least once last night.
