The End Is Near! The Final Four Battle in Fuse's Top 40 Video Poll
The end is near: Fuse's Top 40 of 2012 poll only has one more round! It's been an exciting ride so far. There have been upsets, super close votes and, of course, a few blow outs. Curious how each of the semi-finalists made it this far? Here's their path to the Final Four:
The Wanted "Glad You Came": The Wanted have had quite the ride so far. In Round One, they just barely beat their boy band brethren, One Direction, by the narrowest of margins (only two percentage points). Round Two was less of a contest; the English/Irish lads soundly defeated Taylor Swift's furrie-filled video for "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together." The Third Round was another nail-biter, but the quintet were victorious over R&B bad boy Chris Brown's "Turn Up the Music." The closest match of all, though, was in Round Four. In a true battle of the heart throbs, "Glad You Came" proved too much for Justin Bieber's hoards of internet supporters, and the Wanted won over "As Long As You Love Me" by two percentage points. But can the Wanted keep their hot streak alive against Katy Perry?
Katy Perry "Part of Me": Katy Perry's "Part of Me" is a true tale of survival; the video actually lost in Round One to Christina Aguilera's "Your Body," but was reinstated in Round Three, where it soundly defeated Adele's "Set Fire to Rain." Round Four wasn't so easy, though; KP fans really had to scramble to secure a victory for their gal over rap-rockers Linkin Park, who lost by just two percentage points.
Fun. ft. Janelle Monae "We Are Young": Like Katy Perry, Fun. lost earlier in the contest but were reinstated for Round Three. Like the talented young upstarts they are, the band didn't let second chance go to waste. They crushed David Guetta in Round Three, and won by the narrowest of margins (not even by a full percentage point) against Ellie Goulding in Round Four. But the band faces their toughest completion yet in Round Five. Their opponent? The formidable Christina Aguilera and her video for "Your Body."
Christina Aguilera "Your Body": Christina won a huge battle in Round One by a very slim margin against Katy Perry (interestingly, the two might meet again in next week's final round). Round Two was an easier, but still tough, win for Xtina, as she took down Rihanna's "Where Have You Been." Compared to Rounds One and Two, Round Three was a walk in the park for Aguilera; she crushed Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart a Break" by 24 percentage points. Round Four was another easy victory, as Christina breezed past One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful." But Round Five looks like the diva's toughest battle yet; as the vote stands now, Christina is losing by a significant amount to Fun. Do Christina fans have what it takes to put her in the final round?
Now that we're all caught up, you know what to do... go vote!
