Feel like starting the week off with a good debate? If so, we've got just the Spotify playlist for you. Last Friday, Rolling Stone released a list of their 50 greatest hip songs of all time. The magazine compiled the list by surveying a mixture of hip hop legends (including Nas, Big Boi, Rick Rubin and Q-Tip), industry execs and music journalists. The results are…well, they're divisive. For starters, all of the top 5 were released in the 80s. History is one thing, sure, but no Notorious B.I.G. in the top 5? A 50 Cent song is listed before an Outkast tracks? In fact, no southern hip hop in the top 35? If you say so, Rolling Stone

So listen to Rolling Stone's Greatest Hip Hop Songs Playlist below and debate among yourselves (and in the comments!). And please accept our deepest apologies for the two gaps in the Spotify list; for unknown reasons, the powers that be have denied us access both to Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario" and Dr. Dre's "Nuthin' But A 'G' Thang."
