Happy 30th birthday, Nicki Minaj! That's a big one--congrats! But instead of a birthday gift, we're revisiting the crazy year Year of Nicki Minaj with some of her biggest moments in 2012.

It was truly a wild, wild year. For starters, there was Nicki's war of words -- yelling and cursing! -- with Mariah Carey on American Idol. The two finally made their peace, but it sure was fun while it lasted, wasn't it?

Speaking of beefs, Minaj withdrew from Hot 97's Summer Jam concert after feuding with one of their DJs. Things eventually settled down, but flared up again earlier this week after another DJ said Minaj's Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up sold poorly after the initial incident, Minaj fired back, calling the station and telling them to never play her music again.

And, of course, there was Minaj's brief foray into presidential politics. In early September, Queen Barbie's verse on Lil Wayne's Dedication 4 included the lines:  "I'm a Republican voting for Mitt Romney, you lazy bitches is f—king up the economy." Scandal! But was she serious? No, and even President Obama knew it.

In non-beef news, Minaj showed her generous side when she handed out turkeys on Thanksgiving and again when she gave her boss Lil Wayne a $70,000 cyclecar for his birthday. And we interviewed her a few times this year, learning, among other things, that she used to work at a phone company.

As for her 30^th year, Minaj has at least one major even lined up; she has plans to release her new album in 2013.
