Paul McCartney & Nirvana Perform on 'Saturday Night Live'
Actor-comedian Martin Short hosted Saturday Night Live's holiday episode that included musical guest Sir Paul McCartney, who yet again "reunited" Nirvana (McVana? NirCartney? The possibilities are endless). Macca brought out Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear to play their "heavy as f-ck" jam "Cut Me Some Slack," just like he did during last week's 12-12-12 benefit for Hurricane Sandy. Click to minute 34 to watch.
Making his fourth SNL appearance, the Beatle also performed "My Valentine," a track off his standards album Kisses On The Bottom, with the Eagles' Joe Walsh joining on guitar.
In the wake of the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, SNL skipped the opening monologue, instead kicking off with a beautiful performance of "Silent Night" sung by a children's choir. The children came out later on in the episode to back Macca during "Wonderful Christmastime" during a holiday pageant skit.
