Electric Guest Get Weird and Synchronized in "The Bait" Video
Humor is very important to L.A.-based indie pop duo Electric Guest: one of the guys goes by the nickname "Cornbread" and the other one has a brother in The Lonely Island. So it's no wonder the buzz band, made up of Asa Taccone and Matthew Compton, usually chooses the WTF route for their videos.
Their latest, "The Bait," a sing-along-worthy electropop jam, plays out like a scene from "Newsies." But the video's actually a Broadway-inspired homage to the Lars Von Trier film, Dogville, and the financial crisis of 1929. No, it doesn't make any sense, but damn, the song is catchy. Just listen and stop asking so many questions.
