HBO's "Girls" and the "Girls" Soundtrack

Lena Dunham is the girl right now. When "Girls" premiered on HBO in April of 2012, the entire Internet became obsessed with it, and the show was quickly picked up for a second season. Literally—fun. contributed a brand new song to the soundtrack, as did Tegan & Sara.

Santigold, "Girls"

Speaking of the "Girls" soundtrack (segues!), it wouldn't have been complete without Santigold's ode to the female species. Check out "Girls" from the "Girls" soundtrack, because girls.

M.I.A., "Bad Girls"

To be honest, MTV, you messed up. You and I both know M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls" was the best video of 2012. But despite Rihanna's VMA Video of the Year win for "We Found Love," we still believe this kick-ass video to be the true winner.

Beyonce, "Run the World (Girls)"

Surprise, surprise: Beyonce was one of the first to catch onto the "all girls everything" trend. Waaaaay back in 2011, she released her first 4 single, "Run The World (Girls)." It went out "to all my girls / That's in the club rocking the latest / Who will buy it for themselves and get more money later."

Girls' Generation, "I Got A Boy"

K-Pop sensation Girls' Generation is currently on their way to breaking a record. Their latest video, "I Got A Boy," has over 29 million YouTube views... and it's only been online for about two weeks. Who run the world?

Bruno Mars, "Young Girls"

Perpetual ladies' man Bruno Mars had to get in on the action, too. His Unorthodox Jukebox track "Young Girls" might have a bit of a semi-creepy Gary Puckett feel, but he's just showing his appreciation to all the PYTs out there. And that's okay by us.
