Justin Timberlake Working on Documentary About 'The 20/20 Experience'
If that teaser trailer Justin Timberlake released before his comeback single, the Jay-Z-assisted "Suit & Tie," was kind of confusing to you, well, you're not alone. But apparently the footage is from a documentary Justin is working on about the making of his upcoming third studio album, The 20/20 Experience.
JT recently called into On Air with Ryan Seacrest to explain the project: "That little piece of footage [the trailer] is from a documentary that we sort of started working on throughout the making of the album, which started last June... I thought about it after I put it out. I was like, 'Oh, if people don't know about the documentary then that seems a little weird.'"
Justin also shared the inspiration behind the album's title—JT's friend said the songs "sound like music you can see," hence the "20/20"—and what fans can expect his new stuff to sound like.
"Some of what we touched on with [FutureSex/LoveSounds]—the interludes and pieces that would connect a song to another song—we've really gone deep on that part of the process." Justin went on to say that there aren't a lot of "R&B dance records" on the radio, and he's back to fix that.
And a romantic pro tip from JT himself: Justin, who's been married to actress Jessica Biel for five months, revealed to Seacrest exactly what goes into a star-studded wedding—a lot of "Whatever you want, honey."
"Every photo... Everything you saw from that event, I was riding shotgun." That's a smart man.
