While you make your requisite Bonnaroo road trip preparations (sandwiches, Off!, hippie repellent) for the June 13 - 16 festival, you may want to alter your itinerary to be in Detroit on June 8 and 9. Metallica announced their lineup for the 2nd annual Orion Music + More Festival, including Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rise Against, Deftones and Bassnectar.

"Last year's Orion Music + More Festival was hands down the highlight of the Metallica calendar," said Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, who has no reason whatsoever to say that when promoting this festival. "I can think of no better place than the Motor City, with its rich and diverse history of music, for the second ride on our Orion festival train. Bring it the f-ck on!"

The 2012 festival was held at Atlantic City's Bader Field and featured, among our greatest moments, Avenged Sevenfold, Arctic Monkeys and Modest Mouse alongside Metallica's performance of Ride the Lightning and The Black Album. Here's hoping for another quote-filled press conference, guys. The bar has been set.

Tickets are on-sale March 1 at 10am EST at Orion's website for $150 for a 2-Day Pass. Fan club members and Orion mailing list recipients get first crack before that, with tix on-sale February 26 and 27, respectively.
