Lil Wayne, Pitbull Spar Over Pitbull Diss Track
UPDATE NO. 2: Pitbull responded to Lil Wayne's tweet defending himself with, "I am cool papo but imagine me sh-tting on anything New Orleans which I was just there for Super Bowl the big easy I loved it" and "The world shows me love and vice versa but Miami is all I got no disrespect just the truth."
UPDATE: Lil Wayne responded to Pitbull's track with the bemused tweet, "Dam pit bull bro I thought u was kool."
Lil Wayne is quickly becoming our new DMX, earning headlines more for his desperate quote-grabbing and off-the-field activities than his actual recording career. But, ya know, HEADLINES!, right Weezy? At a concert last week, the rapper mocked Miami, the NBA and the Miami Heat while claiming that he brought Miami Heat to player Chris Bosh's wife.
Now, either to proudly and nobly defend his home city and/or share a slice of headlines under the auspices of regional pride, Pitbull has released "Welcome 2 Dade County," a Wayne diss track that sees the rapper firing shots over the New York anthem "Harlem Shake."
"You got money, yeah that's sweet/But we all know Slim and Baby really eat/You talk Miami if you talkin' Heat /Moral of the story, don't sh-t where you eat," quasi-raps Pitbull.
Wayne hasn't responded yet to the track but a tweet last week may reveal his general position:
