Tom Petty Announces Summer Tour, New Album
If his headlining Bonnaroo gig wasn't enough of a tipoff, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers have just announced a full 2013 summer tour. Petty and his crew kick off the trek May 16 in Indiana and will spent a lot of time in the nation's signature cities: Five consecutive dates in New York and six in Los Angeles.
Don't be surprised if Petty & the HB hit up smaller club venues along the way. "We have this great little rock n' roll band," Petty told Rolling Stone's David Fricke. "I want people to see it in a setting other than a big arena."
Petty also revealed that he's working on a new album, but don't get too excited: It doesn't drop until 2014. Until then, fans can happily listen to Damn the Torpedoes and Full Moon Fever for the 100th time.
