Not many 15-year-old rappers get signed before they've even dropped one single, but Reginae Carter is no ordinary teen girl. For starters, she's Lil Wayne's daughter.
But that connection has little to do with why Weezy's label picked her up, of course. Young Money president Mack Maine explained her credentials to Rap-Up: "She's a star." After saying that, Maine must have realized he had violated YMCMB's policy of overselling everything, because he immediately followed up with an assurance that she was more than just a star. "She's a megastar!"
Sure, why not? We'll have to wait for her to release something to see if there's any truth to that claim, but it's nice to know that when Lil Wayne retires from rap two albums from now, we'll still have a Carter in the game.
