The Stooges Unleash Lead Single "Burn" From New Album 'Ready to Die'
The second reunion album from Iggy & the Stooges—their first since the death of original guitarist Ron Asheton—isn't out until April 30, but you can listen to Ready to Die's first single RIGHT NOW.
"Burn"—which shockingly isn't already the name of a Stooges tune—is a chugging headbanger that finds Iggy droning about reptiles, beauties and how "there's no God." Thus Spoke Iggthustra.
Because it's the Stooges, there's no denying this song shreds. But honestly, it's a far cry from the unhinged madness of Fun House or the speedy insanity of Raw Power. Not to say it isn't cool, but it's not the kind of song you'd show up to a Stooges concert hoping to hear.
Listen to it above and see what you think.
