Our 13 Favorite Musical Couple Collabos

Inviting your significant other to guest on your track isn't always the best idea. (We're talking to you, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.) But here are some rad examples of when it works

1 / 13

Beyonce and Jay-Z, "Crazy in Love"

The king and king of hip hop! Beyonce and Jay-Z first teamed up in 2002 for "'03 Bonnie & Clyde," but it was Jay's appearance on B's debut single, "Crazy in Love," that everyone remembers. Mr. Carter also guested on B'Day tracks "Deja Vu" and "Upgrade U," but that's still not enough for us. Just make a duets album already!

2 / 13

John Lennon and Yoko Ono, "John & Yoko"

Iconic rock couple John Lennon and Yoko Ono really pushed the listenable envelope on "John & Yoko," an "avant-garde" track from their 1969 album Wedding Album. The song (?) features each of the singers saying the other's name over the sound of their heartbeats.

3 / 13

Rihanna and Chris Brown, "Birthday Cake (Remix)"

We know the whole Rihanna/Chris Brown on-again, off-again relationship thing is "nobody's business," but we can't help paying attention when Chris is begging to "f-ck Rihanna right now" in "Birthday Cake," a Talk That Talk interlude that got a full remix treatment in 2012. Uh... no comment.

4 / 13

Nelly and Ashanti (and Akon), "Body on Me"

Nelly and Ashanti dated for, like, 10 years but after their recent split, Ashanti is (quasi) denying it. Whether they did or didn't (they did), at least their love will always be memorialized in the 2008 song "Body On Me," a very romantic ditty about "rubbing that body on me." The video is equally romantic, set in the city of lights: Las Vegas.

5 / 13

Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, "Jackson"

Country's No. 1 couple, Johnny Cash and June Carter, released this duet in 1967 and they even won a Grammy for it. Take note, every other musical couple: This is how you do it.

6 / 13

Sonny and Cher, "I Got You Babe"

Before it was one of the most hated karaoke songs in the world, Sonny and Cher's "I Got You Babe" was the No. 1 song in the country for three weeks in a row in 1965. Rolling Stone named it one of the 500 greatest songs of all time, and you're Aunt Doreen really loves it, too.

7 / 13

Skrillex and Ellie Goulding, "Summit"

Dubstep/Indie couple Skrillex and Ellie Goulding may have broken up in 2012, but these two are professionals. They released their collabo, "Summit," in early 2013, and we're glad they did. How else would we get through that last mile on the treadmill without them?

8 / 13

Ike and Tina Turner, "Proud Mary"

Do we even need to say anything here? Best. Duet. Ever. But also: Worst. Relationship. Ever.

9 / 13

Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony, "No Me Ames"

Longtime friend Marc Anthony teamed up with Jennifer Lopez on her debut album On The 6 for No Me Ames," a beautiful Spanish rendition of the Italian song "Non Amarmi." The pair later went on to marry and have two kids together, but now J. Lo is single again, because if we were her, we wouldn't be wasting all that on one guy, either.

10 / 13

Ciara and Bow Wow, "Like You"

Ciara and Bow Wow only dated for a year, but they made some time to jump in the studio together while they were at it. And good thing for Bow Wow: "Like You" is the rapper's highest charting single.

11 / 13

Paramore's Hayley Williams and New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert, "Anyone Else But You"

If this isn't the cutest thing you've ever seen (next to this dog), then your heart is black and rotten. Paramore's Hayley Williams on her own is pretty adorable, and her BF, New Found Glory's Chad Gilbert, ain't so bad himself. Put the two together on the twee-est song from the Juno soundtrack, "Anyone Else But You," and boom, cuteness overload.

12 / 13

Lana Del Rey and Barrie-James O'Neill, "Summer Wine"

The "gangster Nancy Sinatra" covered the real Nancy Sinatra with her boyfriend, Kassidy's Barrie-James O'Neill on "Summer Wine," and the video is all kinds of '60s dreamy. Peace and love, you crazy kids.

13 / 13

The-Dream and Christina Milian, "Welcome to Vegas"

You know what they say: Couples that elope in Vegas last forever and ever and ever! Just kidding, no one says that, but The-Dream and Christina Milian had high hopes when they hit the Little White Chapel in 2009 together, so they put it in a song, "Welcome to Vegas." The couple split two years later after photos of The-Dream vacationing with his assistant surfaced. But hey, at least they didn't waste all that money on a giant ceremony.
