House Shoes Almost Took a "Bullet to the Face" to Keep His Records
Los Angeles-via-Detroit producer/DJ House Shoes has been at the epicenter of some of hip hop's pivotal moments. As the weekly hip hop DJ for Detroit's influential club St. Andrew's Hall, House Shoes was responsible for helping break many of the city's rappers and producers, including Eminem, Proof and J Dilla. Let It Go, his 2012 debut album, featured Danny Brown, Black Milk, The Alchemist, Roc Marciano and Jurassic 5's Chali 2na among others.
In the latest episode of Crate Diggers, House Shoes recalls when Eminem lifted him up on stage, meeting longtime friend J Dilla, and supplying all the records and posters for 8 Mile. Oh yeah, and that carjacking story is insane.
